The Kirk History Corner #throwbackthursday

The Kirk of Highland is a beautiful historic building located in The Highlands neighbourhood of Denver. Built in 1894, The Kirk of Highland is a great example of Richardsonian Romanesque architecture. Designed by the architects at Kidder & Humphries this historic building is a stable of The Highlands.


Because of the historical significance of the building, The Kirk of Highland does have historic landmark status. Meaning, The Kirk will always remain where it is. So, if you get married here you will always be able to come back!


The Sanctuary at The Kirk is surrounded by beautiful stained-glass windows and creative architectural features. For example, the seating that is in the sanctuary has unique bottoms that were used to hold men’s top hats during church services.
